At the Moorsway Federation, we know that the study of a modern foreign language enhances children’s literacy, self-confidence and broader cultural understanding. Our ambition to embed language learning within our curriculum is born of the statutory commitment in the National Curriculum to give every child between the ages of 7 and 11 the opportunity to learn a new language.

French Day 2023
Across the Moorsway Federation the children enjoyed French Day! We dressed in blue, white and red mufti clothes to celebrate. The children enjoyed tasting traditional French food such as croissants, brie, quiche and pain au chocolat. The KS2 children also made French onion soup with baguette and fromage to taste. The children had the opportunity to enter the Eiffel Tower competition and created incredible drawings and models. Everyone really enjoyed speaking new words in French throughout the day and were able to locate the different countries around the world that speak French.
