The Erme Primary School

Extra Curricular

Clubs

At The Erme Primary School, we offer a range of extra-curriculum clubs for the children throughout the year. Some of these are held at lunch time, with others being held after school. We try to offer a range of clubs to children from each Key Stage across the school year.

Please find a copy of our clubs timetable for this term below.

Forest School

Forest School is a child-centred learning process, providing learner inspired, hands-on experiences in the natural environment. It’s creative and can increase a child’s confidence as they problem-solve and learn to manage risks.

At The Erme, we ensure that each class gets a 6 week block of Forest School sessions which take place in Long Timber Woods in the Spring and Summer term. Mrs Readey is Forest School trained and plans a range of exciting activities for the children to have a go at each week, taking into account their interests and skills that they would benefit from developing.

Residentials

This academic year (2025-2026), we will be having a Year 3/4 residential and a Year 5/6 residential.

We will be joining the children from the wider Exe Valley and Moorsway Federation for our Year 5/6 residential.

The Year 3 and 4 residential visit will be taking place at the end of April and we will be staying at Adventure Oakhampton. During the visit, the children will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of outdoor adventurous activities and we anticipate the trip being lots of fun!

The Year 5 and 6 residential visit will be taking place in June and we will be staying at the YHA in Bath for two nights. During the visit we will be going to Aerospace Bristol, the Jamia Masjid mosque and SS Great Britain in Bristol, and No 1 The Royal Crescent and the Roman Baths in Bath. We will also be going to see ‘Matilda’ at the Hippodrome in Bristol on the second evening of the visit.
